Lizzie S. Eaton (1841-1915) was born in Norridgewock, Maine, and died in
Oakes, North Dakota. She and her husband, Hamlin F. Eaton, taught at the Eaton Family
School in Norridgewock. Lizzie S. Eaton was also an artist and she drew a crayon
portrait of Mary Baker Eddy in about 1881, which Eddy hung on the wall of her bedroom at
Pleasant View. The Eatons sold their interest in the school in 1882 and removed to
Oakes, North Dakota, where they owned and managed a livestock ranch.
