Emma E. Eberman (b. Hamilton) (c. 1837-1897) was born in Ohio and died in
Chicago, Illinois. In 1858 she married Daniel P. Eberman in Akron, Ohio. Over his career
he was a wholesale grocer, a book and stationery dealer, and a banker. By 1870 they had
moved to Cleveland, Ohio; by 1880 to New York, New York; and by 1884 to Chicago. In 1884
Eberman wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a subscription to
The
Christian Science Journal and to inquire about terms for selling Eddy's
written works and procuring additional subscribers to the
Journal. According to an 1885 testimonial published in the
Journal, Eberman had a Christian Science healing practice in Chicago at that
time.
