Frederick T. (Frederick Theodore) Frelinghuysen (1817-1885) was born in Millston, New Jersey, and died in Newark, New Jersey. He twice served as a United States Senator for New Jersey, from 1866-1869 and 1871-1877. In 1881, he was appointed as United States Secretary of State and served until 1885, passing on a few months after he left office. There is no record of Frelinghuysen studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
