Adelbert B. French (1846-1915) was born in Lenox Township, Michigan, and
died in Los Angeles, California. In 1872 he married Emeline "Lina" J. French (b. Pound)
in Orford, Iowa. Sometime before 1880 they moved to Blair, Nebraska, where French worked
as a real estate and loan broker, then around 1907 to Denver, Colorado, where he worked
as a real estate agent, and finally to Los Angeles. In 1887 French wrote to Mary Baker
