Chauncey Giles (1813-1893) was born in Charlemont, Massachusetts, and died in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. He was a New Church minister and author who, over his career, held pastorates in Cincinnati, New York, and Philadelphia. His published works include: The Spiritual World and Our Children There (1870), The Second Coming of the Lord (1879), and The True and the False Theory of Evolution (1887).
