George Washington Glover (c. 1818-1844) was Mary Baker Eddy's first
husband. A New Hampshire native, Glover was the brother of Eddy's sister-in-law and a
building contractor by trade. The two married in 1843, but Glover died of yellow fever
six months after their marriage and move to Wilmington, North Carolina. Their son,
George Washington Glover II, was born after his father's death.
