Eleanor L. Haly (b. Fluno) (1886-1967) was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and died in Los Angeles, California. She was the daughter of Francis J. and Ella V. Fluno, both students of Mary Baker Eddy who were important in establishing Christian Science in Lexington and in Oakland, California. The family moved from Lexington to Oakland around 1890. In 1905 Haly married George H. S. Haly in Oakland. He was a real estate and insurance agent. By 1930 they had moved to San Francisco, California, and by 1935 to Los Angeles where they remained. Her mother credited Christian Science treatment for Haly's painless and harmonious birth, an experience she wrote to Eddy about and also published an account of in the November 1887 issue of The Christian Science Journal. Haly's mother-in-law, E. Madeline Standish Haly (b. Seale), also studied Christian Science with Francis J. Fluno, and, together with her daughter Madeline Standish Haly, joined The First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston, in June 1901. Haly's father-in-law, George Standish Haly, joined in November 1902.
