Mary E. Hampson (1846-1913) was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and died
in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, completing the
Primary (1886) and Normal (1888) classes. She joined the Christian Scientist Association
in April 1886 but withdrew in June 1888 over the Association's response to the Abby
Corner court case. After leaving the Christian Science movement, she maintained a
healing practice in Worcester.
