Eli F. Harrington (1839-1903) was born in Brookfield, Massachusetts, and died in Harbor Springs, Michigan. In 1858 he moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he married Lydia C. Harrington (b. Turner) in 1860. Harrington worked as a printer and became the business manager and editor of the Grand Rapids Eagle newspaper. He was also involved in plastering and timbering businesses. Harrington's wife began studying Christian Science in 1885, and while she expressed interest in taking a class from Mary Baker Eddy, she did not end up doing so. Harrington died while staying at the family's summer cottage.
