Eli F. Harrington (1839-1903) was born in Brookfield, Massachusetts, and
died in Harbor Springs, Michigan. In 1858 he moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he
married Lydia C. Harrington (b. Turner) in 1860. Harrington worked as a printer and
became the business manager and editor of the
Grand Rapids
Eagle newspaper. He was also involved in plastering and timbering businesses.
Harrington's wife began studying Christian Science in 1885, and while she expressed
interest in taking a class from Mary Baker Eddy, she did not end up doing so. Harrington
died while staying at the family's summer cottage.
