Lydia C. Harrington (b. Turner) (1838-1926) was born and died in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1860 she married Eli F. Harrington, a printer who later became the business manager and editor of the Grand Rapids Eagle newspaper. Beginning in 1885 Harrington studied Christian Science with three different teachers and began practicing and giving lectures on Christian Science in her local area. In 1887 she wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to inquire about taking the Normal class with her, but she was not admitted. Harrington was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, Ladies Literary Club, and Fountain Street Baptist Church in Grand Rapids.
