Salome C. Harris (b. Gillett) (1841-1908) was born in Indiana and died in
Chicago, Illinois. She married Andrew J. Harris, a dentist, in 1871. Harris studied
Christian Science with Bradford Sherman, a student of Mary Baker Eddy, in May 1886. She
later became a student of Eddy herself, completing the Normal class in January 1888. She
was a member of a Christian Science branch church in Chicago. Harris joined The First
Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 31, 1892 and was a
member of the General Association of Teachers and the National Christian Scientist
Association. She was listed in the directory of
The Christian Science
Journal as a Christian Science practitioner and teacher in Chicago from 1890
until her death.
