Richard Lewis Hathaway, (1820-1891), was born in Hardwick, Massachusetts,
and died in West Brookfield, Massachusetts. He was a printer. In 1846 he married Alma
Hathaway (b. Ruggles) in Hardwick. Their daughter Sarah A. Moore (b. Hathaway) was one
of Mary Baker Eddy's students. Hathaway's first wife died in 1860 and in 1862 he married
Sophia E. Hathaway (b. Blackmer) in Ware, Massachusetts. They moved to Albany, New York,
sometime prior to 1880 but returned to Massachusetts in the mid-1880s. Sophia died in
1887 and later that year he married Mary A. Hathaway (b. Underwood) in Warren,
Massachusetts. They subsequently settled in West Brookfield.
