Mary A. Hazen (b. Aiken) (1846-1917) was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and died in Los Angeles, California. She married Norman F. Hazen, a farmer and veteran, in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1865, and by 1870 they were living in Windsor, Vermont. By 1880, they were living in Colorado, and they would remain there for the next few decades. Hazen studied Christian Science with Minnie B. Hall De Soto, a student of Mary Baker Eddy. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Denver, Colorado, and joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 4, 1896. Hazen was listed in the directory of The Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science practitioner in Denver from 1908 to 1910. By 1914, she was living in Santa Monica, California.
