Anna "Annie" R. Hessler (b. Tyler) (1856-1929) was born in Canada and died in Los Angeles, California. In 1878 she married Charles Hessler, a barber, in Chicago, Illinois. Hessler heard Mary Baker Eddy speak at Hershey Music Hall in Chicago in May 1884, and she advertised as a metaphysician in the Chicago City Directory in the mid- to late-1880s. She moved to Los Angeles sometime before 1910. Hessler joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 5, 1906, and was listed as a practitioner in The Christian Science Journal from 1914 until her passing.
