Harriet S. Jenks (b. Stickney) (1828-1911) was born in Waterville, Maine, and died in Templeton, Massachusetts. In 1852 she married Edward A. Jenks in Newport, New Hampshire. Over the course of his career, he was a printer, editor, proofreader, author, poet, and businessman. His work led them to reside in New York, New York; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Vicksburg, Mississippi, before they finally settled in Concord, New Hampshire, where, upon Mary Baker Eddy's 1892 move to her Pleasant View home in Concord, they became neighbors. Eddy and Jenks's husband formed a collegial acquaintance, corresponding with one another and reading and commenting on one another's written work.
