Harry H. Johnson (1850-1888) was born and died in Wilmington, Delaware.
In 1875 he married Mary P. Johnson (b. Elliott) in Wilmington. Johnson was a partner in
the firm Elliott, Johnson & Co., Bankers and Brokers. In early 1887 he wrote to Mary
Baker Eddy to inquire about taking the Primary class with her, but the available records
do not reflect that he did so. He instead studied with Eddy's student Ellen E. Cross (d.
1932) in April 1887 while visiting Syracuse, New York. Johnson wrote to Eddy again in
September 1887 seeking to consult with her in person about being healed through
Christian Science treatment.
