Jennie M. Joy (1846-1919) was born in Abbeymahon, County Cork, Ireland, and died in Calumet, Michigan. She emigrated to the United States from Ireland with her family when she was three years old and the family settled in Michigan. On May 3, 1865, she married Henry M. Joy, a Methodist minister. She became interested in Christian Science in late 1885 and in early 1886 she wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to ask for information on studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. There is no record of her studying with Mary Baker Eddy.
