Uriah Knapp (1832-1908) was born in Lyman, New Hampshire, and died in
Lunenburg, Vermont. He married Armenia Moulton in 1859 and, after her death in 1896,
married Nancy Hastings in 1898. Throughout his life he worked as a representative,
selectman, justice of the peace and tax collector. He was a member of the Moose River
Masonic Lodge in Concord, Vermont. Uriah's first cousin, Ira O. Knapp, was a student of
Mary Baker Eddy's. Ira wrote to Eddy in 1886, asking her to send Uriah a copy of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
