Esther M. Lefevre (b. McCall) (1857-1920) was born in New York and died
in San Diego, California. In the 1880s and 1890s she lived in Warren, Pennsylvania,
moving to nearby Jamestown, New York, before 1900 where she married Servaas A. Lefevre,
a florist and gardener, in 1903. By 1910 they had moved to Riverside, California, and
finally to San Diego by 1920. Lefevre studied Christian Science with Sarah J. Clark, one
of Mary Baker Eddy's students, in May 1886. In 1887 Lefevre wrote to Eddy to inquire
about taking the Normal course from her, but it does not appear from the available
records that she did so. She joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston,
Massachusetts, on November 1, 1898.
