Pamelia J. Leonard (1839-1908) was born in Wareham, Massachusetts, and died in Brooklyn, New York. She was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, taking the Primary class in March 1886 and the Normal class in October of the same year. In August 1886, at the request of Mary Baker Eddy, Leonard went to Brooklyn, New York, and founded the Brooklyn Christian Science Institute to teach and practice Christian Science healing. Leonard joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts, on October 5, 1892, and from 1900 to 1907 served periodically in the household of Mary Baker Eddy.
