John A. Linfield (c.1844-1888) was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and died in Boston, Massachusetts. John and his wife, Sarah, were both students of Mary Baker Eddy's and both took Primary class instruction in November 1884. He joined the Christian Scientist Association in December 1884 and served as secretary from December 1885 until his passing. After his death, the Association voted to give one hundred dollars to the Linfield family, with Eddy donating fifty dollars.
