Sarah F. Linfield (b. Chipman) (1842-1924) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. In 1869, she married John A. Linfield, a bookbinder, in Boston. The couple studied with Mary Baker Eddy, completing the Primary Class in November 1884 and becoming members of the Christian Scientist Association and the National Christian Scientist Association. The Linfields were members of the Church of Christ (Scientist) and sang in the choir when services were held in Chickering Hall. After her husband's untimely death in 1888, Linfield was hired by Ebenezer J. Foster Eddy to work as a subscription clerk for The Christian Science Publishing Society (CSPS). She was a member of The Christian Science Dispensary Association and joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 31, 1892. Sometime between 1910 and 1915 she left her job at CSPS and moved to New Hampshire.
