Joseph H. Lumpkin (1856-1916) was born in Athens, Georgia, and died in Atlanta, Georgia. Lumpkin was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia from 1905 to 1916. His mother, Maria L. Lumpkin, wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1886, asking for information about Christian Science treatment through prayer for him. Based on the records available, we have found no further information concerning his involvement with Christian Science.
