Elsie A. Manly (b. Weatherwax) (1829-1908) was born in Rochester, New York, and died in Spring Arbor, Michigan. In 1846 she married Calvin F. Manly, a farmer and lumber dealer, in Jackson County, Michigan. By 1850 they had moved to Livingston County, Illinois. Sometime in the early 1880s they moved back to Jackson County, Michigan, and resided in Spring Arbor, where they remained. In 1887 Manly wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of the pamphlet Historical Sketch of Metaphysical Healing.
