Sarah A. Moore (b. Hathaway) (1847-1892) was born in Hardwick, Massachusetts, and died in Warren, Massachusetts. In 1866 she married Isaac E. Moore in Hardwick and they subsequently settled in Warren, where her husband ran the J & I. E. Moore ink manufacturing firm. In about 1885 Moore received Christian Science treatment from Josephine C. Woodbury, a student of Mary Baker Eddy, and after studying Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures Moore began treating her family and friends. She took Eddy's Primary class in March 1888 and her Normal class in May 1889. Moore indicated that her husband and daughter were also interested in studying Christian Science with Eddy, but the records do not reflect that they did so.
