Charlotte S. Morford (b. Danley) (1837-1894) was born in New Jersey and
died in Elgin, Ontario, Canada. She married John B. Morford, superintendent of the
Canada Southern & Michigan Central Railroad, in the 1850s. They lived in Deerpark,
New York, in the 1860s and moved to St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, by 1888. According to
M. Bettie Bell, a student of Mary Baker Eddy, Morford first encountered
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures in 1888 while visiting Bell's
aunt-in-law, to whom Bell had sent a copy. Morford took an interest in Christian Science
and also expressed interest in studying with Eddy, however there is no record of her
doing so.
