Katherine D. Morrison (b. Douglas) (1885-1973) was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and died in Carmel, California. She was a freelance writer. In 1887 Morrison's mother, Emma S. Douglas (b. Stoner), seeking healing, wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. In 1910 Morrison married Kenneth M. Morrison in Bournemouth, England. In the late 1910s they resided in Paris, France, along with Morrison's mother and sister, Margaret D. Mixer (b. Douglas). Morrison later moved to London, England, where she remained until sometime after her husband's death in 1936, whereupon she returned to the United States and settled in the San Francisco area. By 1965 she was living in Carmel. In a testimony published in the Christian Science Sentinel Morrison related that her first healing through Christian Science treatment had taken place while living in Paris with her mother. Morrison's sister Margaret was also a Christian Scientist. She was a member of the Christian Science church in Los Gatos, California, along with her husband, Knowlton Mixer, who served as First Reader. Knowlton had formerly been a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Jackson Heights, New York. He joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, in June 1927 and was a practitioner listed in The Christian Science Journal from 1935 to 1939.
