Maud E. Morton (b. DeSpain) (c. 1850-?) was born in Illinois and died in an unknown location. Her family moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska, in 1865, and she worked as a seamstress. In September 1886, Morton studied Christian Science with Jennie B. Fenn, a student of Mary Baker Eddy, before becoming a student of Eddy herself and completing Eddy's Primary class in May 1887. Morton was a member of the Christian Scientist Association. She introduced Christian Science to her sister, Amanda M. Thomson (b. DeSpain), who became and remained a Christian Scientist for the rest of her life. By 1890, Morton had changed her surname to Myers. She passed away sometime before 1920.
