Elizabeth "Lizzie" C. Nason (1846-1899) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in Alpena, Michigan. In 1857 she moved with her family to Buffalo, New York, and from there to Chicago, Illinois, in 1861. She moved to Alpena in 1871, where she managed the reading room of the White Ribbon Society, a temperance organization. She also served as the city librarian. In the late 1870s she opened a book and stationery store in Alpena and became a books and periodicals agent. In 1887 Nason wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order copies of several published pamphlets on Christian Science and The Christian Science Journal and to inquire about wholesale rates for her publications.
