Lydia C. Oliver (b. Van Valkenburg) (1813-1915) was born and died in Chatham, New York. In 1834, in Chatham, she married Evan W. Oliver, a candlemaker, store clerk, and postmaster of Riders Mills, New York. After her husband's death in 1872, Oliver split her time between Chatham and Green Island, New York. She resided with her niece, Mary E. Silliman (b. Robinson), for the last 40 years of her life. In 1887 Oliver wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
