Susan L. Oliver (1825-1912) was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, and was the wife of Thomas C. Oliver (1827-1892), an artist who studied with Eddy in 1870. Eddy lived with the Olivers briefly during the spring of 1870 and she held meetings with her students at their house on South Common Street in Lynn, Massachusetts, in December 1871. The Olivers' interest in Eddy's teachings appears to have ceased by about 1872. Susan Oliver died in Danvers, Massachusetts.
