Sarah A. Pine (c. 1838-1904) was born in Hector, New York, and died in Rochester, New York. She is known for, upon Mary Baker Eddy's request, introducing Christian Science to Rochester in the 1880s. She was a student of Eddy's, completing the Primary class (March 1886), Normal class (February 1887), and Obstetrics class (October 1888). Pine joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 31, 1894 and helped organize First Church of Christ, Scientist, Rochester, New York, in April 1894. She was a member of the Christian Scientist Association, as well as the National Christian Scientist Association. She worked as a Christian Science teacher and practitioner in Rochester from 1886 until her death and was listed in the directory of The Christian Science Journal from 1887 through 1904. Both of her sisters, Mary A. Pine and Helen P. Smith, were also active in Christian Science.
