W. A. Pray (1839-1890) was born in Berwick, Maine, and died in an unknown
location. During the Civil War, he served in the Maine 27th and 20th Volunteer Infantry
Regiments. After the war, he worked as a farmhand and then later in the textile mills of
Great Falls (now Somersworth), New Hampshire. There is no record of him studying with
Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
