George H. Prescott (1854-1946) was born in Brookfield, New Hampshire, and died in Reading, Massachusetts. Over the course of his life, he held several occupations, including realtor, horse trader, and store clerk. In 1885, he wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to ask for information about studying at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. He never studied at the College, but his wife, Julia E. Prescott, took Primary class with Eddy in March 1886. In June 1898, he joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was a member until his passing.
