E. M. (Electa M.) Priest (1833-1925) was born in Bolton, Massachusetts, and died in Manchester, New Hampshire. For many years, she worked as a teacher in the Springfield, Massachusetts, public school system, teaching at various schools, including the Oak Street Grammar School and Central Street School. Although she expressed an interest in Christian Science, there is no record of her studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
