Abraham J. Rich (1815-1908) was born in Guernsey County, Ohio, and died
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a Methodist Episcopal minister, serving for almost
70 years. He was a "circuit rider" and would travel great distances on horseback to
preach in the pulpits of remote communities in the Pittsburgh, Eastern Ohio, and West
Virginia conferences. Despite expressing an interest in Christian Science treatment
through prayer for his daughter, Kate J. Rich, there is no record of him or his daughter
being treated by Mary Baker Eddy.
