Henry Sargent

Henry Sargent (1837-1904) was born in Escuminac, New Brunswick, Canada, and died in Oconto, Wisconsin. He and his brother, James Sargent, moved to Pensaukee, Wisconsin, in 1857 to go into the retail lumber business together. Henry married Victoria H. Sargent (b. Adams) in Oconto in 1866, and James married Victoria's sister, Laura E. Sargent (b. Adams) in 1876. Both Victoria and Laura later became students of Mary Baker Eddy's. Henry donated the land for the building of the Christian Science church in Oconto that was founded by Victoria and Laura in 1886. He later became a farmer and cattle dealer and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Oconto.
