Clara Sawyer
Clara Sawyer (1834-1918) was born in Gustavus Township, Ohio, and died in
Columbus, Wisconsin. She was introduced to Christian Science by Mattie Williams, a
student of Mary Baker Eddy's. Sawyer went on to study Christian Science with Mary
Brookins, also a student of Eddy's, and she joined The First Church of Christ,
Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 31, 1892, and was member until her passing. There is no record of
Clara Sawyer studying with Mary Baker Eddy.
