Mary E. Shepard (1852-1900) was born in Ohio and died in Hillsdale, Michigan. She worked as a dressmaker and married Benjamin P. Shepard, a lawyer, in Camden, Michigan, in 1872. In 1886, Susan R. Kenny, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, had copies of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures sent to herself in care of Shepard. Based on the records available, there is no further information concerning Shepard's involvement with Christian Science.
