Roger Sherman (1854-1920) was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and died in Chicago, Illinois. He was the only son of Bradford E. Sherman and his first wife, Hannah S. Sherman. He was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, completing the Primary class (1884) and Normal class (1885). He joined the Christian Scientist Association on March 4, 1885, and in July 1897, joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, remaining a member until his passing. Sherman advertised as a Christian Science practitioner in The Christian Science Journal from 1884 until 1920.
