Mary Smith (1856-1934) was a lifelong resident of Columbus, Wisconsin. She was the sister-in-law of Mattie Williams, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. She became interested in Christian Science when she and her husband, Thomas J. Smith, received Christian Science treatment through prayer from Mattie Williams. Although she expressed an interest in Christian Science, there is no record of her studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
