Pedy V. Smith (b. Cole) (1841-1936) was born in Glendale, New York, and died in Rochester, New York. In 1861 she married James H. Smith, a cheesemaker, in Lewis County, New York. They lived in various places in Lewis County until moving to Rochester sometime before 1913. In 1886 and 1887 Smith wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and other Christian Science literature. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
