Kate Taylor (c.1863-?) was born in New York and was introduced to Christian Science by Fannie M. Silsbee, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. Taylor studied with Eddy in September 1884, but her involvement with Christian Science was short-lived, ending in early 1885 when Taylor published a pamphlet, Selfhood Lost In Godhood. The pamphlet, according to the minutes of the Christian Scientist Association, defamed Science and Health and encouraged people to study with unauthorized teachers of Christian Science. There is no record of Taylor joining the Christian Scientist Association or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
