Francis Thomas (1830-1909) was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and died
in Brunswick, New York. He moved to Troy, New York, sometime before 1855 and was married
to Caroline "Carrie" F. Thomas (b. Connell). Over the course of his career he was a
bootmaker, a tobacconist, a merchant, and a manufacturer. In 1887 he wrote to Mary Baker
Eddy to inquire about having a qualified Christian Science teacher sent to Troy.
