Ione R. Thompson (b. Revenaugh) (1870-1954) was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and died in New York, New York. By 1880 she was living in Jackson, Michigan. Thompson was healed of rheumatism in the spring of 1898 by reading Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. That April she studied Christian Science with Laura V. Lathrop, a student of Eddy's, and she joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 4, 1898.
By 1900 she was living in Louisville, Kentucky, and was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Louisville, Kentucky, where she served as First Reader. In June 1901 she took the Normal class taught by Edward A. Kimball in the Board of Education of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. She moved to New York, New York, and while living there in 1904 she became a member of the General Association of Teachers. In 1907 Thompson served as secretary for the Board of Directors of The Central Christian Science Reading Room Association of New York City. She married John F. Thompson, a retired bank executive, in Delaware in 1910. Thompson was listed in the directory of The Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science teacher and practitioner in Louisville from 1899 to 1902 and in New York from 1903 until her death.
