Mary J. Tucker (b. Sanborn) (1835-1899) was born in Warner, New Hampshire, and died in Henniker, New Hampshire. She was working as a schoolteacher in Henniker when she married Thomas F. Tucker, a wood and coal dealer, in 1860. By 1868 the couple had moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts, where they remained until moving back to Henniker sometime around 1888. Tucker took the Primary class from Mary Baker Eddy in May 1882 and again in 1883. She subsequently became a member of the Christian Scientist Association, attending the Point of Pines Picnic with several other Association members in July 1885. Tucker was listed as a practitioner in The Christian Science Journal from 1883 through 1885. She joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 5, 1895, and was also a member of the Christian Science church in Lawrence.
