Lillian A. Van Bergen (b. Brown) (1865-1957) was born in Iowa and died in St. Paul, Minnesota. In the 1880s she lived with her family in Marshalltown, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska. In 1890 she married Allen B. Van Bergen in St. Paul. She was a telegraph operator and he was a grain, stock, and bond broker. Van Bergen's mother, Samantha A. Brown (b. Deuel) was one of Mary Baker Eddy's students, a member of the Christian Scientist Association, and a Christian Science practitioner.
