Mary E. "Lizzie" Wagner (b. Keeler) (1862-1886) was born and died in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania. She was a schoolteacher. In 1882 she married Charles P. Wagner, a farm laborer, and they resided in nearby Wysox, Pennsylvania. Wagner was a niece of Orrilla W. Day (b. Vaughn), one of Mary Baker Eddy's students who was important in the establishment of Christian Science in Chicago, Illinois. In 1886 Wagner's husband wrote to Eddy to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and Wagner's mother, Mary S. Keeler (b. Vaughn), wrote to Eddy to report that Day was giving Wagner absent Christian Science treatment and to seek assistance with the case.
