Harriet L. White (b. Goodwin) (1823-1896) was born in Nova Scotia,
Canada, and died in Malden, Massachusetts. In 1849 she married William H. White, a
cordwainer who became a well sinker, in Lynn, Massachusetts. By 1870 they had moved to
Chelsea, Massachusetts. White joined the Church of Christ (Scientist) in Boston,
Massachusetts, on March 21, 1886. Her daughter, Virginia A. Matthews (b. White), also
joined the church at the same time.
