Jessie C. Whitlock (1856-1916) was born in Saint Andrews, New Brunswick,
Canada, and died in Saint Stephen, New Brunswick. She was a musician and a music
teacher. She lived with her family in Saint Andrews until the early 1880s, then moved to
Boston, Massachusetts, for a few years in the late 1880s before moving back to New
Brunswick, where she settled in Saint Stephen for the rest of her life. Jessie was the
sister of Emma J. Whitlock, a Christian Science practitioner and a student of Mary Baker
Eddy's student Julia S. Bartlett. In 1887 Emma sent Jessie a copy of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
